The 2025 TCS Sydney Marathon presented by ASICS marked a defining milestone. This year, Sydney officially joined the ranks of the Abbott World Marathon Majors for the very first time. This debut Major lived up to its momentous status—drawing a record-breaking 35,000 participants, along with approximately 300,000 enthusiastic spectators lining Sydney’s iconic route.

Kipchoge made his long-awaited Australian debut, finishing in 2:08:31 to claim ninth place in the men’s field—a milestone that boosted the prestige of this Major’s inaugural edition. Alongside him, Brett Robinson, the national half marathon record holder, powered through to finish in 2:15:00, showcasing his resilience.
Together, their presence underscored the spirit of this new Major: global legends and local champions uniting on Sydney’s streets, with Shokz there to keep the rhythm alive.
Shokz Shakeout Run: A Morning to Remember
On August 28, Shokz hosted a Shakeout Run with local run clubs against the iconic backdrop of the Sydney Opera House and Harbour Bridge. Over 100 excited runners laced up and hit the course wearing Shokz headphones, sharing in the energy of Sydney’s debut as a World Marathon Major and celebrating Eliud Kipchoge’s first race in Australia.

At the official expo, the Shokz booth stole the show—a sleek, buzzing space that drew runners all weekend. The Eliud Kipchoge displays and giant headphone installation became must-visit photo spots, while the spotlight product—the Kipchoge Co-branded Edition OpenRun Pro 2—captured attention with its Open-Ear design, lightweight fit, and powerful sound built for performance. On race day afternoon, the city’s energy carried into the hours that followed, Shokz teamed up with leading podcast For The Kudos for a special live show and afterparty. Shokz athlete Brett Robinson shared his marathon experience with honesty and humor, drawing laughter and applause from the crowd.
A Shokz prize draw lit up the room, and as the DJ took over, runners connected over music, stories, and celebration. It was more than an afterparty—it was a moment of community, painting everyone a unique Sydney memory.
Meet the Legend: Eliud Kipchoge at Shokz Event
In the afterglow of the 2025 TCS Sydney Marathon presented by ASICS, Shokz hosted a landmark moment on September 2—the "Beyond the Finish Line: One Running World" meet-and-greet with Eliud Kipchoge.
Joined by the leading media, local running community, Kipchoge shared his vision to "Make Australia a running nation."
"I trust that legacy is not about medals, it's not about records, it's not about running fast," he adds, "It's about getting out of your door, being with people, running with people, setting challenges, telling people about the challenges, solving the challenges, going beyond the finishing line, getting the accomplishment, and being happy."
