AfterShokz Pairing: Getting started
AfterShokz headphones and headsets will pair to most Bluetooth devices that use BluetoothⓇ 3.1 or higher, including phones, tablets, computers and watches. It will not pair with some transmitters. AfterShokz headphones can be paired with a Smart TV using BluetoothⓇ v3.1 and up. If your TV does not have Bluetooth, you'll need a Bluetooth transmitter.
How to pair Bluetooth headphones
Start with your headphones turned off. To enter pairing mode, press and hold the volume+ button for 5–7 seconds. You will know you are in pairing in mode when the LED light flashes red and blue, and the voice prompter Audrey says, “pairing.”
Once you’re in pairing mode, access the Bluetooth settings on your device and select your headphones from the list of options.
How to pair AfterShokz with iPhone
Start with your headphones turned off. Enter pairing mode by pressing and holding the volume+ button for 5-7 seconds. Audrey will say “Welcome to AfterShokz.” Continue holding the power button until the LED light flashes red and blue.
Open your Settings menu, head to Bluetooth Settings and select your headphones. Audrey will say “Connected.” Your headphones should now be connected to your iPhone
How to pair AfterShokz with Android
Start with your headphones off. Enter pairing mode by pressing and holding volume+ until Audrey says “pairing” and the LED indicator flashes red and blue. Open your device’s Bluetooth menu and select your headphones.” Audrey will say “connected” and the LED indicator will flash blue one time.
How to pair AfterShokz OpenComm Headsets with NFC
Near Field Communication allows a mobile device and an NFC-equipped headset to connect, simply by being in close proximity to one another. This process eliminates the need to manually sync both devices by navigating to a phone’s Bluetooth menu. Currently, NFC Pairing is exclusive to our OpenComm bone conduction headset, making it the only AfterShokz wireless model equipped with the feature.
To pair AfterShokz OpenComm headset, hold down the Volume+ button until the headset flashes red and blue to indicate pairing mode. Position the NFC sign, found on the left arm of the headset, close to the NFC detection area of the Android device you are connecting to. A blue light will flash one time when your headset is paired successfully; Audrey will announce “connected”. You may have to confirm the connection on the device you are connecting to as well.
How do I pair AfterShokz to multiple devices?
AfterShokz headphones offer multipoint pairing, which allows users to connect to two devices at the same time. While you won’t receive audio from both devices at the same time, you will be able to easily transition between devices.
To pair multiple devices through multipoint pairing:
- Start with your headphones turned off.
- Enter pairing mode by pressing and holding the volume+ button for 5-7 seconds, until the LED light flashes red and blue.
- Press and hold the multifunction button and volume+ button for 2-3 seconds. Audrey says "Multipoint Enabled."
- Pair first device. Audrey says "Connected."
- Turn your headphones off.
- Re-enter pairing mode by pressing and holding the volume+ button for 5-7 seconds, until the LED light flashes red and blue.
- Pair the second device. Audrey says "Device Two Connected."
- Turn your headphones off.
Your headphones should now be paired to these devices.
