I’ve been using a ragged pair of wired headphones to amp up my running and cycling training for a couple years, since buying them impulsively at an airport. All those years I’ve battled with deteriorating sound quality and occasionally yanking them painfully out of my ear when I get the cord wrapped around a doorknob or something. In parallel I’ve been falling out of love with swimming and the never-changing laps up and down the tiles.
By chance, I googled options for a set of headphones which could solve all these problems, and the OpenSwim Pro was the solution I settled on.
Overall, very chuffed. They play well with a helmet and don’t bounce at all during a run. The biggest game hanger has been swimming, which is a whole new sport with some sounds, and I can even use the best to set tempo.
My only issue is that the band is slightly large on my head, and there’s not a small size option. This has been solved by a well-placed piece of elastic - no further issues.
After being an in ear headphone wearer all my life, I am converted. No wind noise and perfect spacial awareness for busy runs along the coast.
The swim functioning works well, even at pace and during tumble turns. Yet to use in open water but looking forward to the challenge of longer distances.
Battery life lasts more than you’d need for even the longest training day.

These are the Shokz headphones I've been waiting for and they have not disappointed.
No matter what I am doing the tunes keep playing.
I use them in MP3 mode when I am swimming, I switch to Bluetooth when I'm out eFoiling or kitesurfing so I can stream music via my watch. If mobile coverage is poor, I can switch back to MP3.
Much to my surprise I have even taken phone calls on the Openswim Pro while on my eFoil!
There's heaps of battery life and they sound good (I'm a bit of an audiophile, so I'm picky).
To get the best out of them you really need earplugs, especially if swimming.
I have had Openrun Pro and the previous Openswim...both of which have been good; however the Openswim Pro has finally met all my needs.
I bought these primarily for running, but went with the swim as I will sometimes like to use them paddle boarding and potentially in the pool, we will see. These are my first bone conduction headphones. Very easy to use, they find their place on my head easily as soon as I put them on. I like that my ears are open. I find this more comfortable and I like being more aware of what is going on around me. I am able to hear people as we wave hello going past on my runs. The sound quality is fine for my purposes. I am usually a bit fussy, for example I always grab a speaker if someone wants to play me audio from their phone. I have had them only a couple of weeks, so far they appear quite durable.
