Expert Reviews

“They’re not cheap, but these are the most complete, high-tech waterproof headphones on the market. The sound is bone-conducted from beside your ear, preventing the risk of swimmer’s ear and other potential plugged-ear problems.”
“Perfect for swimmers in particular, the Aftershokz Xtranierz are an appealing set of bone-conducting headphones. We just wish they had Bluetooth connectivity for those out of the pool times.”
" Sound is incredible underwater thanks to a dedicated swimming EQ, with the bone-conduction pads sitting on your cheekbones and the ear-hook design resting comfortably under a hat or goggles. "

One of the best thing I've bought

I first tried my sister’s OpenSwim (OS)while visiting her overseas. I need to wear earplugs while swimming which makes OS ideal. I’ve had other swimming earphones but they didn’t prevent water from entering my ears. They also used Bluetooth connectivity and the qualities of sound didn’t come across as well as the self-contained OS.
I put my OS on first thing in the morning while making my coffee. The fact that OS is self-contained and doesn’t have to be paired with other devices makes it easy to use. I use them in the gym while warming up and also while I go for a walk and don’t have to worry if it happens to rain.

I prefer using earbuds (not over the ear headphones) to listen to music and audiobooks. OS are comfortable to wear and gives my ears a rest from the buds. The OS’s 4 GB is big enough for plenty of music and audiobooks. I also find the drag and drop files from my laptop to OS convenient making adding or deleting audio files quick and easy.

OS charges quickly and I get over 7 hours of play per charge. This makes OS a great travelling companion.
I’ve found buying and the after service from Shokz Australia to be excellent. The delivery was fast and the staff respond to enquiry quickly and professionally. The 2 years warranty without added cost is reassuring and can also come in handy .

Awesome headphones

I already had a set of OpenRun Pro and decided to get the OpenSwim headphones to use while swimming.
Sound is good, they are comfortable and battery life is great.
Changing from swimming EQ to normal EQ is super easy.
As well as using them for lap swimming I've been using them in the sauna/steam room and at the gym if I have a session before the pool or sauna.
Also, postage was super quick.

Love the Product but has Minor Engineering Flaw

First off I would like to say that the Shokz Bone Conducting Headphones are the best product on the market all around. Amazing sound, very comfortable, battery last a long time, easy to use, and great value. My only minor issue with the headphones is that they are very easy to lose and the solution is very easy to implement to the design. When I had short hair this was not even a problem for me, but since I have grown my hair out long they always fall off or come lose very easily, and I recently lost a pair of Pros after having them for only 2 weeks. The solution would be very easy and it is to add an optional safety cord that can be attached to both ends. This would solve the problem for they would no longer be able to fall completely off every time your hair gets caught underneath them or when you take your shirt or sweater off.

I personally do not think I can afford to buy another pair until this feature is added. They are too expensive to be losing all the time! That being said if you do not have long hair and you do not take your clothing off while wearing them you have a great product that will last a very long time!

Great for swimmers!

I've been using these for about 3 weeks non stop and they are everything I could have wished for. They have a clear sound, battery is more than enough to get me through my swim sessions, and transfering MP3 files is very easy once you have the files on your computer

I have even tried listening to audiobooks while I swim which is great. And I appreciate the headphones playing files in alphabetic order so the audiobook isn't shuffled

I also like taking them for runs so I can still hear my surroundings and stay alert.

To summarise: great headphones for a great price

Would they be good, no they were better!

I have been a long time fan of Shokz bone conducting earphones and bought some for the wife for running and she loves them but i was worried about buying the swimming earphones, having tried other units with little success in the past. Worry no more! these things are phenomenal. they are comfortable and don’t move in use, they have great battery and mp3 capacity but most amazingly they are better in the water than out! If you, like me, get bored in the pool then these are a lifesaver and I cannot recommend them more. I can’t say anymore that this, if I lost them or broke them I would have bought a new pair on my phone before I left the pool changing room! Brilliant.
