RosannaBuchauer , a passionate trail runner born in the Bavarian Alps and now based in Innsbruck, Austria, Rosanna Buchauer has built her life around the mountains. She moved to Innsbruck for her studies—and never left. Through running and alpine exploration, she discovered not only new landscapes but a better version of herself.

Rosanna’s journey into ultra-trail running wasn’t marked by speed or early accolades, but by quiet determination, curiosity, and a deep love for nature. “Although not the fastest,” she says, “I found my way into ultra running—conquering peaks in summer and practicing various endurance sports in winter.” From trail running and cycling to ski mountaineering and cross-country skiing, she has transformed herself into the kind of athlete she never imagined she could become. In recent years, Rosanna has emerged as one of Germany’s top ultra-distance athletes. Her performances on the UTMB® World Series circuit have been especially impressive: 1st place at the Lavaredo Ultra Trail 120K and the Grossglockner Trail in 2024, followed by a 3rd place finish in the CCC at UTMB® Mont-Blanc the same year. In 2025, she continued her momentum with 2nd place at the Chianti Ultra Trail by UTMB®. A defining moment came during the 2024 CCC at UTMB®, where Rosanna ran with her Shokz OpenRun Pro 2—not just a piece of gear, but a true companion through every climb, descent, and moment of struggle. “Music helps me forget my hard breathing; songs are my personal cheerleaders,” she says. The emotional power of sound carried her through the race—and into a new chapter. In 2025, she officially joined the Shokz family as a Shokz Athlete, a partnership built not only on performance but shared values of resilience, freedom, and emotional connection to the trail. With her eyes set on ambitious mountain projects and continued challenges in the UTMB® World Series, Rosanna is charging forward—driven by nature, supported by sound. Her story is one of transformation, both athletic and personal, and a reminder that with heart, grit, and the right soundtrack, anything is possible.
