Born and raised in Melbourne, Lucas has rapidly established himself as one of Australia’s premier
talents in cycling, showcasing both consistency and determination across the sport’s toughest
competitions.
Over the course of his career, Lucas has become a multiple-time national champion. He claimed
the Australian National Road Race title in 2022, 2023 and 2024, while also securing the National
Time Trial crown in 2021, 2024, and 2025. His international breakthrough came with a bronze
medal at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, followed by another bronze at the 2022 Commonwealth
Games. Lucas further cemented his reputation on the world stage with a stunning victory on Stage
8 of the 2025 Giro d’Italia.
As a two-time Olympian, Lucas continues to set his sights on the ultimate prize of an Olympic gold
medal, driven by the pride he feels representing Australia at the highest level. Beyond competition,
he embraces the Australian lifestyle in Bright, Victoria, where he enjoys life on his hobby farm with

"Being out on the road cycling OpenRun Pro 2 allows me to have full awareness of cars and
traffic while still being able to play my favourite pump up music."
“I use both the OpenRun Pro 2 and OpenFit Air. Being out on the road cycling this allows me to
have full awareness of cars and traffic while still being able to play my favourite pump up music
and get the most out of my ride. I never have to stress about them falling off on a fast descent or
worried about traffic. They have been a game changer for me in safety. Some of my training rides
can reach up-to 6/7 hours in duration and the satisfaction of the headphones never dying
compared to friends who suffer and have to do the last part of training with nothing is always very
satisfying!”
