Sara Alonso's journey began on the athletics track in the Basque Country, but the rigid pressure of the clock never truly resonated with her. During the 2020 pandemic, inspired by the legendary Kilian Jornet, she traded the hurdles for the unpredictable beauty of the mountains. By 2022, she announced her arrival on the world stage with a dominant victory at the Transgrancanaria Marathon. Since then, Sara has become synonymous with resilience, overcoming injuries to claim the prestigious Zegama-Aizkorri title in 2025 and consistently elite placements in UTMB events.
